Clarins
(Note: University Project)
Clarins is a cosmetics, skincare and beauty brand which is seen as a luxury and high end brand to a lot of people. They came to my university for our class to make a advertising campaign, we were in a group of 3 and here are my designs for it. The aim was to make more young people interested and attracted to it but to also buy more of Clarins' products.
The designs were based for celebrating how natural beauty is better and how skincare can make you feel fresh and happy but to also really entice them too as hidden gems!
For these two designs, I wanted to showcase 2 things, the product and also nature. These were performed by using Photo Manipulation and also the products themselves from Clarins’ website. To me, nature is extremely important in this campaign due to the campaign being based on natural beauty and how these products would be perfect for you.
I went for the leaf scheme because it represents nature perfectly and the composition has made it clear and easy to look at. It also promotes the product but still adds excitement and mystery which will likely tempt the viewer to buy it. I also followed Clarins’ branding by using the Americana font as well which shows what the product is, what it does and where its best to buy it. I personally feel this will make people remember the product and to buy it because of how nature is calming to a lot of people and green is also a very approachable colour and soft vibes.
I also manipulated the design to add some motion and perspective instead of it being on a solid colour or floating by adding some shadows to the surrounding area of the product.
If I had more time, I'd definitley rework them to be stronger and more clearer designs as my Photomanipulation skils were just starting off when I made these designs as were were mainly focusing on the marketing and the other details behind the campaign!
I also feel that the "Make a Splash" design was the strongest design and seemed more fun, as well as sticking with the values and creative process and thoughts!
